Buenos Aires tourist information

The City Tourist Information Offices at Florida 100 downtown and Quintana 596 in Recoleta are open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday and until 4pm on Saturdays. The one at Alicia Moreau de Justo in Puerto Madero is open every day from 10am to 6pm, and the one in Local 83 in the Retiro bus terminal every day but Saturday 7.30am to 1pm. Tourist Ombudsman

Av. Pedro de Mendoza 1835 (Benito Quinquela Martín Museum) in La Boca, Buenos Aires. Open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm. 4302-7816; turista@defensoria.org.ar. Deals with mistreatment, abuse or discrimination against tourists.

Tourist Police

Av. Corrientes 436 in downtown Buenos Aires. 4346-5748; 0800-999-5000; turista@policiafederal.gov.ar. Deals with crimes committed against tourists. They have English, Italian, French, Portuguese, Ukrainian and Japanese interpreters.

Tigre tourist information

The Tigre tourist office (in the boat terminal across the street from the train terminal) in the province of Buenos Aires is open every day from 9am to 6pm. Call 4512-4497, or see http://www.vivitigre.gov.ar/.
